Bluefish and Croakers on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay - June 29, 2009

No picture, but today we went down Maryland's Chesapeake Bay for some bluefish and croakers. We did pretty well trolling for the bluefish, using six lines. There were a few times where we had all six lines go down at one time! We ended up with over 40 of them in a relatively short period of time. They range between 2 and 4 pounds. We then anchored up for some croaker fishing, and within two or three hours, ended up with close to 180 croakers! The croakers ranged anywhere from 10 to 16 inches in length.

As you just read, the bluefish are starting to come on strong, and the croaker fishing on the Chesapeake Bay is wide open. We expect the bluefish to stay around through September and the croakers to stay around through the first half of August. If you are interested in this type of fishing, check out http://www.sawyercharters.com/ for more information!
