Maryland Fishing Report - June 26, 2009

Here is another happy group that had a great day of fishing on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay for striped bass! First, they caught some live spot for bait, and then proceeded to catch their limit of Maryland stripers within two hours! These rockfish range between 19 and 26 inches in length. The great thing about live-lining for these striped bass is that it can be really slow, and within minutes, the fish start biting like crazy, and everybody has one on!

Fishing for Stripers on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay - June 22, 2009

Today was another awesome day of fishing on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay! What you see in the picture above are Maryland striped bass caught on the Chesapeake Bay, using live bait and light tackle! These Chesapeake Bay rockfish range anywhere from 20 to 30 inches in length! We started out fishing for the bait, which is a lot of fun in itself. As soon as we caught enough bait, we went out to the fishing grounds, and the fish were out of the water. We caught our limit of stripers in less than an hour! After that, we went down the Chesapeake Bay for some croaker fishing. They then proceeded to catch a mess of croakers.

Croaker Fishing on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay - June 20, 2009

What in the world's in that picture above, you ask? That's a 160-quart cooler full of croakers, caught on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay! The weatherman was calling for awful weather conditions on the Chesapeake Bay, but like so often, he was wrong! It was a beautiful night. The fishing was slow starting out, catching a croaker here and there. We did some trolling for bluefish, which have started to make their way up the Chesapeake Bay. There was about 25-30 of those in the cooler too. But when that sun hit the trees, the croaker fishing took off! We caught about 150 within an hour! Our customers left very happy, and we look forward to seeing them again.

Fishing for Maryland Rockfish on the Chesapeake Bay - June 15-16, 2009

The picture above for Monday, June 15 shows that once again, we caught our limit of Maryland striped bass on the Chesapeake Bay. We went fishing for the bait first, and then out to the Bay to catch these beauties. Within two hours, we had our legal limit! These guys were really happy and we hope to see them again.

The picture above shows what we did today. This crew today went out with us at about 6am this morning. We caught our spot fish to be used for bait, and then we went out to the Chesapeake Bay and blasted those striped bass, rockfish, or whatever you want to call 'em! We got out to the Bay at just the right time, when the current was moderating, and those stripers were hungry. They're addicted to them little spot! The picture above says it all! We've got a good feeling we'll be seeing these guys again soon.

Maryland Striped Bass Fishing Report - June 13-14, 2009

The above picture shows what our crew did on Saturday, June 13! These guys caught their limit of Maryland striped bass on the Chesapeake Bay, using live bait. Once the fish got going with a moderating current, they had their limit within two hours! These fish range anywhere from 18 to 30 inches in length! The weather conditions were excellent! Hopefully, we'll be seeing these guys back!
On Sunday, we continued to catch our limit of striped bass on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay, as can be seen in the above picture! We had to wait them out a bit, as there was a hard-running current. Once the current slacked up, the fish started to bite again, and we had our limit in no time! After that, we went back into the river for some croaker fishing.

The Maryland fishing action right now is really good, and we hope it continues that way. To keep up to speed with what we're doing, check us out at http://www.sawyercharters.com/!

Chesapeake Bay Fishing Report - June 11-12, 2009

The fishing for Maryland striped bass on the Chesapeake Bay is still going strong. We are using spot fish for live bait, and then going back in the Honga river for some bottom fishing. We don't have a picture from June 11, because we did get in a little late, but it suffices to say that we caught our limit of rockfish, ranging anywhere between 18 and 32 inches in length.

The picture above was from another successful trip on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay, live-lining for Maryland rockfish. This was from June 12. It was a beautiful day out, with the bay as smooth as a sheet of glass. These guys had their limit of stripers within two hours!
