Chesapeake Bay Fishing Madness - May 6-7, 2009

It's time once again for some more talk about fishing for striped bass on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay! The fishing is still hot and heavy as can be seen in the pictures below.

The above picture is from yesterday, May 6, 2009. Surprise, surprise! Another full limit of Maryland Striped Bass on the Chesapeake Bay! From a weather standpoint, the day was absolutely beautiful. The Bay was calm all day long. The fishing was slow starting out, with another very hard-running ebb current. Once the current slacked off, the fishing picked up. We had to wait these stripers out today, but between 10am and 1pm, we had our limit. Some of these rockfish, were of pretty good size. The one in the center was 42" long! As you can see, he was having a lot of fun trying to hold onto it! A couple of others in that picture were around 40" long! The picture above shows what happened today. This was the fastest fishing that we've had in quite some time! We had our limit in about one hour! We made one circle out in the Chesapeake Bay, and caught what we needed! As you can see, these are some beautiful Chesapeake Bay striped bass. Hopefully, we will be seeing these guys again sometime soon!

If you want to catch some of these Maryland rockfish, get on over to http://www.sawyercharters.com/ and book your very own Chesapeake Bay fishing charter!
